Ganpati Bappa Morya! The streets of Mumbai come alive with unparalleled vibrancy as Ganesh Ganeshotsav 2023 rolls around. 10 day festival marking the birth of the elephant headed Ganapathi God, Ganesh Chathurthi.This festival is a unifying force that transcends religious boundaries and is a true manifestation of the spirit of the city’s choices.
As the festival approaches, you can feel a tangible excitement in the air. The days leading up to Ganesh Ganeshotsav, Ganesh Chaturthi - Ganapati God birthday are full of activities. The houses are clean, the decorations are well appointed, and the heart of the festival the Ganeshji idol is well chosen. From small, treasured household idols to giant statues that adorn public pavilions, we wellcome Lord Ganesh and we say it loud "Ganpati Bappa Moryaaaa...."
Throughout the festival, people offer prayers in front of the idol, perform aarti and sing bhajans. The sweet delicious cooked modak which is also called ukadiche modak is favorite dish of our Ganpati God - Bappa, is usually offered as prasad.
